The breakout is designed around the MTK3339 chipset, a high-quality, no-nonsense GPS module capable of tracking up to 22 satellites on 66 channels, has an outstanding high-sensitivity receiver (-165 dB tracking!), and an antenna designed in. For high speed, high sensitivity logging or tracking, it can do up to 10 position updates a second. Power consumption is remarkably small during navigation, just 20 mA.
